Privacy & Disclaimer

How we handle information submitted through this website, and important disclaimers about the material published here.

Website Information We Collect

This page addresses information submitted through detectives-mis.com — our contact form, the Find My Hero® request form, and our media-inquiry form. It is separate from, and should not be confused with, the records we maintain as part of an investigative case file once Madison Investigative Services, LLC has agreed to accept an engagement. Case file records are governed by the terms of the applicable client agreement and by professional and legal obligations that apply to licensed investigative work, not by this page.

When you submit a form on this website, we collect the information you choose to provide — for example, your name, contact information, and the details of your inquiry, Find My Hero® request, or media inquiry. We do not use this website to sell goods or collect payment information; our payment page routes securely to Stripe, which processes payment details directly and does not share card numbers with us.

Find My Hero® Submissions

Information submitted through a Find My Hero® request — including your story, any materials you describe, and details about the person you are seeking — is used to evaluate and, where appropriate, conduct that specific request. As explained on the Find My Hero® page, a located first responder’s privacy is respected, their personal contact information is not automatically disclosed to a submitter, and your submission does not by itself authorize us to publicly share your story, photographs, or a located individual’s identity. Separate permission is requested before any such publicity.

Third-Party & Sensitive Information

Some inquiries, by their nature, involve information about third parties — for example, witnesses, other involved individuals, or responding agencies. We use that information only to evaluate and, where engaged, conduct the relevant investigation or request, and we do not sell it.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account information, passwords, or other unnecessary sensitive information through any form on this website.

Service Providers

We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate this website and the forms on it — for example, a form-processing service that relays submissions to us by email, a payment processor for invoice payments, and a comment-hosting service on blog articles. Each operates under its own privacy practices for the limited technical function it performs, and we do not sell visitor or submitter information to them or to anyone else.

Retention

We retain website inquiry and form information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry, evaluate the request, and satisfy applicable recordkeeping, legal, or professional obligations, and we dispose of it when it is no longer needed for those purposes.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect the information submitted to us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information submitted over the internet.

No Guaranteed Result

Nothing on this website, including on the Find My Hero® page, is a promise or guarantee of a particular investigative outcome. The results of any investigation depend on the specific circumstances, the information available, witnesses, records, and other factors outside our control, and no particular result can be guaranteed.

Blog & Published Material

Articles and other materials published on this website are provided for general informational purposes and should not be construed as legal, medical, forensic, or other professional advice applicable to a particular matter.

Not Legal Advice

Nothing on this website creates an attorney-client relationship or constitutes legal advice, and nothing on this website creates an investigator-client relationship or obligates Madison Investigative Services, LLC to accept an investigation. Investigative services begin only after a matter has been reviewed and an appropriate written agreement has been executed.
